SUNCOAST WOODCARVERS
CHIPS VOL XXV ISS 6
SEPTEMBER 26, 2010
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE, SEPTEMBER, 2010
Fellow Woodcarvers,
Fall is upon us; time for the Club’s meetings to start. Meetings are on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 PM. Remember, this is your Club. You pay dues, so please support it. Come to the meetings.
The Club also has Workshops every Tuesday at 8:30 - 11 AM with carving, coffee, donuts, and conversation. Our Club members are saddened due to the departure of Leo Roberts. He will be moving back to Michigan with his family. He was the life of our Tuesday Carving Workshops. Leo made the coffee, got donuts, and made us laugh. Leo, we will miss you! We had a great summer at the Tuesday carving sessions.
Safe carving,
Bill Briggs

Treasurer Judy Wolf distributed her report, which was accepted. Judy noted that that she received payment for 5 Show tables from Wilcox, the wood vendor and 5 tables for Cedar Bird.
Webmaster Richard Samay has begun updating the website.
The date of the 2011 Club Carving Show was confirmed as January 15 and 16.
OLD BUSINESS For those who have not seen the upgrade of the Craft Rooms, it is complete. The only adverse comments related to the loss of electrical outlets in the side wall of each room.
NEW BUSINESS Normal agenda items, Joe Kane's Bag of Tricks and 50/50 were not presented as Joe was absent and the group was too small for 50/50. Alan distributed Jenga blocks as the Vice President's challenge for the next meeting. The October meeting is scheduled for the 12th at 7 PM at the Seminole Rec Center. John Roush is expected to present a discussion of his woodburning technique.
SHOW AND TELL Carmen Zeoli showed his sunflower bas relief again, this time with painting completed. Looks good.
Judy passed around an item, which turned out to be a magnolia seed pod.
The meeting was adjourned.
